Throughout the course of life and the employment history of every individual, education plays a crucial role. Education journeys, thus, take different paths depending on the respective stage of life. Children, whose individual starting point in the journey is determined by Specific Language Impairment (SLI), rely heavily on professional support in everyday schooling, in order to learn effectively. SLI can seriously influence the students‘ educational success. For those children, the risk of experiencing a considerably less successful education journey may increase substantially. This is why the specific special educational support has to be adapted to the students’ individual learning requirements, allowing for a positive education journey. The students’ individual lifelong circumstances are traced back through documents analysis. A survey is used to answer the question whether students with established language related special educational needs, who attended a Sprachheilschule, achieved school qualification or professional qualification.
