This study shows non-invasive measurements of skin auto fluorescence (SAF) and pulse wave analysis on 108 male patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Measurment of SAF & the Buckberg index for surveillance were proven as useful screening parameters. Aging of skin (SAF) was found to belinked to arterial stiffness by an invers correlation with diastolic blood pressure. No significant correlations were found in regards torisk stratification after coronary artery bypass surgery. To evaluate non-invasive cardiac output monitoring by the Vicorder®, 27 cardiac ITU patients were recruited for haemodynamic surveillance via a pulmonary arterial catheter. Significant results were found in the measurement of central blood pressure. The calculation algorithm for the cardiac output will require a revision.
