In this thesis, different approaches to the synthesis of heterobimetallic coordination polymers were investigated. Two main routes were considered: the construction of the polymeric structure by creation of coordinative bonds or by creation of covalent bonds, respectively. The latter route is regarded to be a new approach to the synthesis of heterobimetallic coordination polymers. Among the synthesized and structurally characterized compounds are ligands and the corresponding complexes derivatives of salicylaldehyde or aminobenzoic acids. A main focus of this work is the investigation of the polymorphism of the iminophosphoranes of the aminobenzoic acids and their triphenylstannyl esters. All products were characterized by spectroscopic methods and singlecrystal X-ray diffraction and their intermolecular interactions were studied by various topological methods.
