Due to the reconstruction of the dental clinic it had become necessary to rearrange the prosthetic collection. Because of a non-existing table of contents and structuring, the collection had been useable neither for scientific research nor for educational purposes. The taste was now to construct an archive of the prosthetic collection sufficient to scientific demands while using newest techniques of communications. For this end the exhibits were relocated, cleaned an, if necessary, restored. Afterwards they were photographed and stored in a Power-Point file. The exhibits were classified into four main areas of prosthetics (full set, partial denture, materials an Articulator construction). Followed by intense researches in books and magazines of that time it was then possible to name and describe the exhibits. Thus, a documentation of the archive in pictures and writings was developed. The archives are saved on CD and are accessable by anyone even for foreign prospective customers who are interested in the historical exhibits. Now, due to an orderly arrangement of the repository, it is not difficult to search for certain exhibits to use them for scientific work or for educational purposes.
