The health-related quality of life (HRQOL) was evaluated for a patient group with benign and malignant cerebral tumor before and after radiotherapy in oncology. The following inclusion criteria were applied: sufficient Compliance understanding of patient information and existence of a cerebral tumor without pre radiation. The patients had to fill out the questionnaires called EORTC QLQ-C30 and QLQ-BN20 at the following times: before (t0) and after (t1) radio therapy and additionally after three (t2) six (t3) and twelve (t4) months. Further at t1 unintended side-effects were assessed on behalf of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE). Generally the global life quality improved slightly (t0=49 t4=65). At t1 there was a significant increase in fatigue loss of appetite and hair loss. During the timeline the symptoms decreased the HRQOL was not impaired. The objective side effects of the therapy were comparable with the subjective claims. |
