1957 rekonstruiert. | |
The closure of the University of Wittenberg LEUCOREA in 1817 (via its union with Halle) made it necessary to the administer its remnants. Above all this concerned – in addition to the library archives and collections – the so-called Wittenberg Foundation including the LEUCOREA real estate. For this purpose on the one hand the Royal University Administration in Wittenberg was founded and on the other hand the College of Professors of the Wittenberg Foundation in Halle (Saale). These two entities took care of the material and financial heritage of the LEUCOREA until well into the 20th century. Their history is reconstructed here for the first time for the entire period of their existence from 1817 to 1952 and 1957 respectively. |
