The aim of the present study was to evaluate the influence of the laser parameters tension, puls duration and focus on tensile strength of NiCr dental wires (Remanium®, Dentaurum, Ispringen, Germany). The wires were welded parallel. First, the specimens were categorised according to their surface quality and after that tensile tests were performed. Focusing on the pulse duration a significant influence coud be detected. The parameter "tension" had a significant influence on the localisation of the fracture. Microscopic analysis of the microstructure demonstrated a continuous weld seam when using optimal laser parameters. A heat-affected zone coud be observed in all specimens. |
